Introduction

The self catering Scottish Cottages accommodation comprises two charming Victorian semi-detached cottages in the grounds of Leny House in Scotland. The building is south facing, tucked away in a peaceful corner of the estate down a small lane overlooking fields grazing sheep and cattle.

Heating in the cottages is by electricity and you pay for what you use at the end of your visit at the standard rate from the Hydro Board. The night storage heaters and controllable warm air radiators will ensure you are always snug in these delightful cottages.

Parents of young children should be aware that the nearby stream can fill quite quickly after a heavy shower, although probably the worst that will happen is the water coming over the tops of wellies.

The staircases on both cottages are Victorian and quite steep, care should be taken on them.

As with all our self catering accommodations, we will be here to welcome you, and show you into the cottage and ensure that everything is in good order for your holiday. There is always help on hand should it be needed, and we are delighted to advise you on what to do and see whether you want to walk, stroll or drive.

Garden Cottage

The accommodation at Garden Cottage consists of 2 bedrooms, one with 5 ft double bed and en suite shower, toilet and hand basin. There is second bedroom with twin beds and the family bathroom upstairs has a bath, separate shower, toilet and hand basin. A further 2 persons can be accommodated on the put-u-up in the sitting room and we make a small extra charge for this.

Downstairs there is a cosy sitting room with an open fire should you need it for chillier evenings, comfortable seating for up to 6, a TV, video, and a hifi system. The separate dining room also has seating for up to six. The kitchen is all electric with fridge/freezer, cooker, microwave, washer/dryer and dishwasher plus all the equipment you can think of for a comfortable stay, even the dried herbs and a wok.

Orchard Cottage

The accommodation provides 2 bedrooms in Orchard Cottage. The double room has a 5 ft wide bed and an en-suite shower and basin, the other room has twin beds. There is a family bathroom upstairs with bath, toilet and hand basin.

Downstairs, the sitting room has comfortable seating for up to six persons, and the sofa converts to a 4’6” double bed for the use of which there is a small extra charge. There is a colour TV, video, and a stereo system. There is also a shower and toilet downstairs. The conservatory dining room seats up to 6 and is perfect for more formal meals, whilst the kitchen has a big table and 6 chairs for family breakfasts. The kitchen is all electric, with fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer, cooker, plus all the china, pots and pans etc you may need for your visit, right down to the garlic press and a selection of herbs.

Tariffs 2009 for our Self Catering Cottages in Scotland

Prices range from £560 per week to £880 per week for up to 4 people for the whole cottage. A further 2 people can be accommodated on the put-u-up in the sitting room, the extra charge is £50 for each extra person per week.

We ask for a deposit of £250 on booking and the balance to be with us 4 weeks before guests' arrival. We accept payment by card, Access, VISA, MasterCard or cheque.
